The quality of the installation is our number one concern. This higher standard also means leaving the room clean
and caring for the customers home furnishings, carpet and window treatments.
I don't want to have to make excuses for problems like many contractors always do. Many competitors continually
get themselves into desperate situations they have to explain their way out of. My quality attitude results in jobs
that my customers are satisfied with for years.
Any cracks in the existing caulking are filled with Polyseamseal adhesive caulking. As I work and find minor
repairs that need bonding in tile or formica I fix these also. Many contractors don't do this; their job is
very narrowly defined and they do nothing extra.
I restore the walls to the original smoothness by selecting from 3 different fillers. If required, a liner is hung
over some or all of the surface. Wall repairs of all types are performed when needed, such as filling in large
towel bar holes or filling obsolete electrical cutouts.
Most wallpaper sold today comes as prepasted, designed for do-it-yourselfers to dip into a water tray to apply. I
always apply my own heavy duty paste to the back of the paper which results in a more durable bond. If you
haven't already bought your wallpaper, try Atlantic Wallpaper, 954-971-0522, in Pompano Beach for a great
selection of in-stock wallpaper.
Textured paper requires extra time to wash off paste from the indentations. This is carefully scrubbed to remove
residue which will eventually turn brown and unsightly.
I carefully regulate the moisture state of the pasted sheets. If the sheets are hung too quickly they will continue
expanding on the wall resulting in air bubbles. On the other hand wallpaper sheets can be hung too slowly if too
many are pasted up in a sequence. In this case the last couple of sheets may be too dry for a good bond.
In the case of string paper I use a cellulose paste that won't stain the delicate material. A narrow strip is
carefully trimmed from each side of the paper to hold the paste in and prevent staining during handling. The entire
hanging process for string involves continually wiping off hands and tools to eliminate extraneous paste.
Specialty papers require different techniques. Hand prints have a narrow selvage on the sides that must be
precisely trimmed. These are double cut on the wall which results in an invisible seam.
Besides these fine quality papers I also have to deal with defective paper that may have been bought at a closeout
price. A common defect is crooked edges on the paper that is handled usually by a filling method.
I'm just scratching the surface here on the special techniques required for different papers. If you've
followed the material this far you have an idea of the care that goes into a professional job... the kind we always
provide at TRW Paperhanging.

About Website:
A couple of summers ago I read a book on website development and updated this site so that it would work better on phones and tablets. Perhaps overdone, it is interesting to work on and regularly edited.
